As a unique initiative undertaken by ‘OIA Africa Health and Welfare Endowment' [OIAAHWE], a Customer Contact Program was held across various public places in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The primary objective was to understand the medical needs & demands of the population.
Ethiopia being a developing nation is way behind in the Health care sector and this has enabled the huge exodus of patients seeking better, affordable and quality eye care services to other countries where facilities are available.
Keeping this in mind, ‘OIA Africa Health and Welfare Endowment' (OIAAHWE) has instated an Eye Care Hospital in Addis Ababa, with stone laying ceremony marking the first phase of the project. The vision of ‘OIAAHWE' is to bridge the existing gap between demands for eye care facilities. Customer Contact Program was arranged on the basis of planning and designing the project as per to the requirements of the people in a realistic way, as they being of prime importance. The program was spear-headed by Mr. Saadat Noor and Mr. Bhabani Shankar and a focussed research plan was in action.
The Scope of the survey was to interview about 1700 individuals that were affected directly. They were asked inputs on customer loyalty program, services, amenities they would like to avail from the health care unit.
At ‘OIAAHWE', our endeavor is to give citizens and fellow beings world class services at affordable cost, and this exercise of the Customer Contact Program has enabled us to successfully understand the scope of the project which is, offering holistic eye care centre as a gift to the African fraternity. This is not the end of the whole exercise, but the beginning of the project. The input received will help us to design a systematic plan of action, to ultimately reach the goal of fulfilling the need in serving the health care problem in the nation.
